Izaara Cricket day and night Fiesta 2015 was a grand event held at the turf city Cage sports park on the 5th of April 2015.The Event is a much awaited one, on Singapore’s active cricket calendar with 7 teams participating in the tournament

Despite the day starting with rain and thunder, it didn’t dampen the spirits of all the sporty and enthusiastic players who brightened up the day in their colorful feisty attire. The play went on with the DJ belting out cheerful foot thumping numbers to add on to the gaiety and cheer!

Almost all the group stage matches were closely fought, with victory margins ranging between 10 runs and 33 runs. Whilst chasing scores, Victory margins ranged from 2 balls till a maximum of 20 balls to spare in a match. There was certainly no shortage of fireworks in the tournament with 69 – 4’s and 28 – 6’s hit during the course of the day, the longest of the 6’s landing in the adjoining golf course!

Fast forward to the final where History repeated itself once again as Mariners met arch rivals K-Line for a second consecutive time as the two foes battled it out for the Izaara cup. With the Mariners scoring just 68/2 in their allotted 6-overs which K-line found a little hard to chase whilst facing the mariners accurate bowling ,falling short of the target to accurate by 35 Runs in the allotted 6 overs.

The Mariners once again declared the champions of Izaara 2015, becoming the first team to win the Izaara cup on back to back occasions.

The player of the tournament had to be Danish of the Mariners who put up a remarkable all-round performance as he ended with 55 Runs and 3 Wickets,

The best batsman of the tournament went to the big hitting Samir Apte of K-line who finished with 74 Runs including 5 colossal 6’s.

The Best bowler of the Tournament went to the unplayable Gurjinder Singh of Golden CC who bowled his heart out in his 3 Overs, giving away only 3 runs and picking up 2 wickets.

The stats above are just one of the reasons why Izaara’s cricket tournaments are amongst the most anticipated and enjoyed cricketing events in Singapore. The professional and fun filled approach makes this a unique and one of a kind event.

With a brand new format that has never been seen in Singapore cricket, Izaara cricket fiesta 2016 promises to be an even more entertaining tournament than its previous 5 counterparts. Izaara would like to thank all its sponsors and the teams for making this year’s tournament a huge success!
