The 14th edition of the Izaara Cricket Fiesta was a vibrant celebration of cricket, camaraderie, and community. Held at the scenic Dempsey ground on the 28th and 29th of March, the bright morning air was filled with excitement and smiling faces, setting the perfect tone for a weekend of non-stop cricketing action.
The dynamic 8-a-side Day & Night tournament—pioneered by Izaara in Singapore—creates an atmosphere where competition meets connection. Teams return year after year not only for the thrill of the game but also for the opportunity to network, build relationships, and enjoy a memorable sporting experience in a lively and inclusive environment.
We were honored to have Toa Payoh MP, Miss Elysa Chen, grace the occasion and present trophies to the “Izaara Champions 2026.” Her presence was truly inspiring for both the players and all of us at Team Izaara.
Our inspiration
When asked what “Izaara” means, players shared a variety of heartfelt and creative responses that beautifully captured the spirit of the tournament. From excitement, electric energy, and fun, to incredible hospitality and an exhilarating atmosphere—each answer reflected the joy and connection the event fosters. One even fondly summed it up as “Monisha,” adding a personal and memorable touch. These responses filled us with immense gratitude toward the players who continue to entrust us with their weekends.
An Onlooker’s Perspective
The astro turf wicket provided a solid surface for batting, though the slow outfield often caused the ball to lose momentum. As a result, batsmen relied more on sixes than boundaries along the ground. Bowlers found success with slower deliveries, which proved more economical, while quicker balls were more frequently punished.
